Hendry's hiding

Stephen Hendry’s second successive 3-0 whitewash ended his interest in the Asia/World Challenge in Bangkok last night.

The seven-times world champion slumped to defeat against Hong Kong-born player Marco Fu.

Despite a 3-1 defeat against 17-year-old Ding Junhui, 29-year-old John Higgins qualified for the semi-finals, courtesy of two earlier group victories.

Hendry was as poor as he was against Thailand’s world number 86, Atthasit Mahitthi, 24 hours earlier. Fu now plays Junhui for a place in the final while Higgins tackles Mahitthi who stunned 1997 world champion Ken Doherty 3-0.
