Basketball bonanza for fans

BASKETBALL action in Cork gets off to a flying start in the New Year with two quarter-finals of the National Cup to be decided at Neptune Stadium on January 2, and the Mardyke Arena on Monday, January 3.

All four quarter-finals will be decided over the first weekend of the New Year. On Monday, DART Killester and Abrakebabra Tigers, respective leaders of the conferences, meet at the Irish Wheelchair Association Gym, while Roma St Vincent’s play 2002 champions Limerick Lions at St Vincent’s CBS in Glasnevin.

The Killester-Tralee game is undoubtedly the pick of the bunch. Killester have only lost one game all season and that was when they travelled to Tralee for a cross-conference game in the NIVEA for Men SuperLeague.
