O'Boyle bids for European Junior Cup

Niamh O’Boyle of the Curragh/Naas club heads the Irish orienteers' presence at this weekend’s European Junior Cup, which has attracted 143 runners from 11 countries to Epping Forest near London.

O’Boyle, the only woman and the only U20 in the squad, is well used to British conditions, having medalled over the last two years at the Jan Kjellstrom international.

Dublin’s All-Ireland U18 champion Ted McCormack (Great Eastern) heads the U18 boys squad which includes Patrick Higgins (lagan Valley) and Shea O’Boyle (Curragh Nass).

Meanwhile, Ireland’s top senior orienteers compete at the Northern Ireland Championships at Tullymore tomorrow.
