Alonso tames the big noises

FERNANDO ALONSO made Formula One history yesterday, as the results of the Hungarian Grand Prix blew the World Championship race wide open.

Alonso tames the big noises

In winning his first grand prix at 22 years and 26 days, Alonso became the youngest driver to take the chequered flag, having led the race from start to finish as Renault also celebrated their first victory of the season and their first as a manufacturer for 20 years.

Alonso was never troubled at any stage over 70 laps, beating McLaren's 23-year-old star Kimi Raikkonen into second place by more than 16 seconds, while 27-year-old Juan Pablo Montoya took third in his Williams-BMW.
