MICHAEL SCHUMACHER roared to a record-equalling 11th win of the season in the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim yesterday, giving home fans the result they wanted, while his rivals made it a race to remember.

The German driver started from pole and was never threatened as he comfortably continued his astonishing run of success to better his own 2002 winning record by claiming 11 wins in five fewer races.

But behind him the race was filled with thrilling overtaking moves which saw Briton Jenson Button get the better of Spaniard Fernando Alonso to claim second place and return to the podium for BAR-Honda.
