Siobhan’s bronze

Former Irish Examiner Junior Sports Star winner Siobhan Byrne won bronze at the National Collegiate Fencing Championships in Houston, Texas.

Ireland’s top fencer, Byrne is attending Ohio State University on a sports scholarship. She was defeated by Olympic Gold medallist, Mariel Zagunis in the semi-finals. Zagunis achieved silver at this event with Emily Jacobson, representing Columbia, taking the gold.
