Dolan wants Doyle in World Cup squad

CORK CITY manager, Pat Dolan yesterday called on Ireland’s U21 team manager, Gerry Smith, to include striker Kevin Doyle in his squad of players to play in the World Cup finals in the Emirates, at the end of next month.

Doyle was given a late call to join the Irish squad for Wednesday's friendly match against Italy, and scored the opening goal as Ireland won 2-0. And Dolan was there to see it.

He said yesterday: "We had two players in the game Kevin Doyle played the opening half, and Liam Kearney came in for the second half, and I'll be surprised if both are not in the Irish squad for the finals.
