Schumacher and Ferrari vow to fight on despite poor form

MICHAEL Schumacher yesterday vowed not to give up his world title without a fight — but he is demanding his Ferrari team give him the car to deliver for the rest of the season.

Schumacher's boast last week that he was favourite to land what would be a record-breaking sixth Formula One crown looked hollow after a dismal performance at Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.

The 34-year-old German saw his lead in the championship race slashed to a single point by Juan Pablo Montoya, while Kimi Raikkonen is another point adrift, setting up a three-way scrap for the season's final few races.
