Ireland’s Derek Ryan is 5-8 seed in the BSPA Grand Prix Ilkley Open which gets underway in Yorkshire today while John Rooney comes in as a late entry and is unseeded despite his superior world ranking.

Rooney, the recently beaten finalist at the Wimbledon BSPA tournament, opens against Mohammed El Said but could meet Wimbledon winner Steve Meads in the quarter finals.
