Excitement at Head of The River

THE 61st Dublin Head of the River, hosted by Old Collegians' Boat Club, was held on the Liffey on Saturday.

The two Lady Elizabeth/Trinity eights led off the 28 crews from the Marlborough Steps just below O'Connell Bridge.

At Heuston Bridge, the second LE/Trinity crew, featuring the two Olympians, Eugene Coakley and Sam Lynch, had closed on their A crew by four seconds. This lead was increased to nearly eight seconds by the finish at Islandbridge, with Commercial a further nine seconds behind in third place.
