Unbeaten run for Cork Church of Ireland

Cork Church of Ireland maintained their unbeaten run in the Division 1 of the Munster Senior League and stayed on course for the big showdown on November 6 with Cork Harlequins, when they defeated Catholic Institute 5-0 at Rosbrien yesterday.

CofI got the only score of the first half when captain Karl Burns scored from a 15th minute penalty corner and they increased their lead on 40 minutes when Ken Twomey scored from another. He was on the mark again from yet another penalty corner on 48 minutes.

Now in control, CofI made it 4-0 with a Richard Arnopp goal on 57 minutes and the scoring was completed when Alastair Dunne, on his return to the side after a long spell with injury, found the back of the Catholic Institute net on 60 minutes.
