Douglas sets new swimming record

The Irish Open Swimming Championships finished with Julie Douglas winning the Larry Williamson Memorial Trophy for ‘Swimmer of the Meet’.

Douglas established a new Irish Senior record of 27.65 in the 50m Butterfly as well as winning the 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle.

There were several new junior records over the four days. Fourteen year old Laura McDonnell, completed a double, setting junior records in both the 50m and100m Butterfly.
