Vincent’s title deciders

ST VINCENT’S are in the position of deciding the league title on Sunday, when they take on Neptune in the last Superleague game of the season.

Vincent’s title deciders

Despite being without star player Kevin Foley who injured an ankle last weekend against UCD, Vincent’s coach Joey Boylan is positive about a home victory, saying: “Neptune have it all to play for this weekend but we will be looking to finish on a winning note. They will expect no favours and will need to be on top of their game to beat us.”

Neptune came within a game of the title, following their 96-83 victory over Waterford Crystal on Wednesday night and are within days of regaining the trophy, last held in 2000. Neptune’s Kieran O’Brien played well for inter-varsity champions UCC last weekend.

Gordon Fitzgerald’s availability has been confirmed for this crunch game.

Hibernian UCD Marian host Sx3 Star on Saturday night.

Star are travelling to Dublin with a full team, with John Leahy increasing his court-time weekly. Gareth Maguire is in splendid form top-scoring on 31-points against Limerick last weekend.

In a disappointing result, UCD Marian went down 82-69 to Killester on Tuesday night and will be hoping to maintain their fifth place position with a victory over Star on Saturday.

BurgerKing Limerick will be hard to beat on their own court and have a full squad for their game against Killester this weekend.

Mardyke UCC Demons will be without Brian Clernon in a home battle against Notre Dame. Demons lost four of their five games since the cup, so will go into this game as underdogs, while Notre Dame have a full squad.
