Aspell the driving force as UL capture first major title
It was a game that had everything and UL had it all, driven forward by the performance of her career from MVP Aspell who ended up with 29 points and 12 rebounds against her old club with whom she won two national cups and every other honour available in the game.
“It was tough all right going out there today against my old team-mates but I think this victory is sweeter than any other,” she said. “Tony (Hehir, her coach and partner) had made a team out of us. We have a lot of very good players but he made a team of us and it was a team effort that won this for us today. It was the best win ever.”
