SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD David Morris from Kilkenny successfully defended his Irish U21 snooker title at the weekend in Celbridge, defeating Galway’s 14 year-old Vincent Muldoon 4-1 in a superb final.

Both players came though a quality field to reach the final and qualify for the World U21’s which this year will be held in Bahrain in August.

Morris opened up with breaks of 64 and 112 to take the first two frames but Muldoon hit back with breaks of 47 and 29 to pull it back to 2-1, only for Morris to rattle off runs of 57 and 64 to comfortably defend his title.
