Nugent advances in Bolton

Karen Nugent won through to the semi-finals of the ITA tournament in Bolton yesterday.

The luck of the draw again seemed to favour the Irish woman as she was faced with qualifier Claire Ricketts, but the English woman had knocked out second seed Emily Webley-Smith in the previous round.

Nugent won 6-3 7-6, taking the tie-break 7-0.
