Hockey blues for Cork Church of Ireland

Cork Church of Ireland’s disappointing run in the European Hockey Trophy in Prague continued yesterday when they were beaten 3-0 by Russian side Dinamo Ekaterinburg in the play-off for sixth place.

On Saturday they scored their first victory in the tournament when they beat Italian outfit SG Amsicora 2-0, thanks to two John Jermyn goals, to finish third in their pool.

In the women’s European Hockey Trophy in Baku, Azerbaijan, Hermes coasted to an 11-0 win over Austrian outfit Arminen on Saturday and yesterday followed with a 2-0 win over Italian side Seneca San Saba to finish second in their pool. They play Volga Telecom today in the crossovers.
