Scotland’s is not the only ‘Mickey Mouse’ league in the world
Writing in his TV verdict column about Ireland v Georgia and the booing of Shota Arveladze, he refers to the "supporters of the Mickey Mouse League" ie, Celtic fans.
The Scottish Premier League is probably a Mickey Mouse league but it has this in common with leagues in countries of similar populations. Take for example our own eircom league or indeed domestic competitions in Sweden and Denmark.
What would Mr Sweeney suggest disbanding of theses leagues or maybe even a disbanding of these countries!
The booing of Shota Arveladze because he plays for Rangers is moronic and should stop, but people also think that watching 22 grown men chasing a round object around a park is moronic too, but we still do it.
If Mr Sweeney has any constructive ideas on how to stop unsavoury incidents at games, then well and good, but cheap jibes at football supporters is too easy, especially if you have your own newspaper column.
