THERE were a number of Irish winners in the One Wall events at the World Handball championships at the O’Loughlins GAA complex in Kilkenny yesterday.

Sharon Twomey of Kerry club Ballymac captured victory in the Girls 13 and under grade.

The young Kingdom competitor defeated Leona Doolin from Roscommon in the semi-final before overcoming Siobhan Gilligan of Longford in a thrilling, tense final, (15-8; 14-15; 11-3).
