Michael Vaughan kept England on course for victory in the opening npower Test against West Indies at Lords yesterday.

The tourists ended day four on 114-3 in pursuit of an unlikely victory target of 478.

Vaughan, unbeaten on 101 could have been out twice before reaching three figures for the second time, but his authority at the crease gave Andrew Flintoff the later licence to thrill and allowed England to declare 477 ahead with enough time to dismiss West Indies again.
