Nick Heidfeld nicked

Jordan driver Nick Heidfeld is reportedly set to test a Williams alongside Antonio Pizzonia at Jerez on Friday as the team considers replacing reserve driver Marc Gene with the German for the next round at Hockenheim on July 25.

It is thought that engine suppliers BMW would like to see a German in the race seat alongside Juan Pablo Montoya at the German event with Jordan's Heidfeld seen as the obvious choice.

Eddie Jordan has claimed all season that he would like Heidfeld to head to a top team and would likely have no problem releasing him from his contract, for a price. The team has a quick replacement in test driver Timo Glock.
