Sailing set for Schull

In stark contrast with the heavy wind conditions, which prevailed during day one of the BSDRA, day two commenced with light, shifting breezes, which made a lottery of results.

Sailing set for Schull

The Irish team, represented by students of Schull Community College faced a rematch with Tonbridge after a protest by the British team was upheld. However, the West Cork boys repeated the result of the previous day.

Elsewhere, American Champions Point Loma were the side to beat and as the day developed they remained unbeaten in all 12 races to join Sevenoaks and Hothkiss in the semi-finals.

The final place was up for grabs right to the last race. Schull and Tonbridge were all square heading into their final match. However, Tonbridge defeated Radley College while Schull lost to Magdalen College to miss qualifications.

The semi-finals went to form with the two US teams defeating Tonbridge and Sevenoaks while Point Loma went on to defeat Hotchkiss in the final in a repeat of the National USA final.
