Inniscarra White takes advantage as loser cramps

THE final of the Willie Barry Memorial Cork Open (coursed over the Ballinacurra preserves on Saturday and at Churchtown South yesterday) was an all family affair.

Inniscarra White takes advantage as loser cramps

Victory went to the Bernie O' Mahony owned Inniscarra White, representing the Grenagh club, who got the flag over Fuair Agus Fluich owned by his nephew, Jim O Donovan, and representing the Castletownroche club after the loser had led four lengths for the opening score.

In the top semi final Fuair Agus Fluich got the flag over Lobnamna Razor behind a winding hare while in the bottom semi Inniscarra White had five lengths to spare over Tullawaddy, both greyhounds getting enough to do.

Fuair Agus Fluich was always in front in the run down in the decider to take the turn by four lengths but, unfortunately for connections, he cramped after the second turn and Inniscarra took possession and got in enough turns to work off the lead for a deserving win.

The William Higgins for working members went to the Donie Kelly (Ballinacurra) owned Sarou Hawk, who took the opening turn by a half a length from the Micheael O Keeffe owned Lady For Me, also representing Ballinacurra, in an exciting final.
