A CANADIAN sports promoter plans to showcase ice hockey violence in Prince George in two months by getting rid of the boring gameplay and focusing on what hockey fans really want — blood-splattering, bare-knuckle, on-ice brawls.

In the first-ever fighting event of its kind, dubbed the Battle of the Hockey Enforcers, 16 former pro or semi-pro hockey players will duke it out in full hockey gear and uniforms in front of fans.

“Two guys will come out at a time and show what they can do,” said event organiser Darryl Wolski.
