IT TOOK about two years, said Usain Bolt, before the novelty of retirement wore off, before the greatest sprinter in history was sitting back, watching major championships, and again feeling the itch.

It was 2019, two years after he’d closed his career at the London World Championships, and Bolt sat down with long-time coach Glen Mills to pitch him the idea of a comeback.
