The Pitch: The LOI economic impact report is too little, too late and lacking in detail

The findings of the FAI’s first commissioned economic impact report into the league have come a long way from a 99 page, 2016 paper by a UK consultant, who found that the league was ‘Cool’.

At the very end of BDO’s financial impact statement into the League of Ireland – released this week – the chartered accountants issue a warning about its content.

“It has been written in general terms and should be seen as containing broad statements only,” reads its disclaimer, of sorts.
