The playing of the Allianz National Football League Finals in Croke Park last weekend was a fine success.

Partly, this success hung on the quality of the Division 1 final between Dublin and Derry. It was a great game of football: fast, competitive, skilful, progressive and full of players willing to take risks rather than being mired in a turgid possession-based sludge.
