Troubling news this week with Ireland’s drop down the happiness league table, tumbling to 17th following the UN’s latest annual World Happiness Report, a drop of three places since 2023.

Things are still relatively grand. We are operating in the Premier League of the 143-country pyramid. All the same, we look to be sliding towards the dropzone. And while we’re changing the gaffer, there’s no sense around that we can look forward to any new-manager bounce.
