Her on the iPad downstairs, marooned by the modern miracle of streaming at least 30 seconds behind the live action, vulnerable to any gratuitously audible displays of jubilation from above.
“No shouting if they score,” she decided, bizarrely forgetting what a calm and undemonstrative spectator her father is.
