Coppinger sets up clash with O’Meara

Martin Coppinger had a comfortable two bowls of odds win over James Buckley at Waterfall in the final pool score of the Munster senior championship on Sunday.

Buckley opened with a tremendous bowl down past the Glasha and up the hill facing Lynch’s farm. Coppinger came to the point of the bend with a good reply, but it was 80m short of Buckley’s tip. He followed with an exceptional second bowl up the hill past Castlewhite cross, which Buckley missed by five metres.

Buckley won the next exchange past Lynch’s farm. Coppinger went in front with a good shot past the corner of the lawn and dominated the rest of the score. Buckley got two poor shots past Mehigan’s and Coppinger pushed clear. He had almost a bowl at the old senior finish and had a full bowl after two good shots to Dan Herlihy’s corner.
