Elegant claims semi-final spot in run-off

THE Kieran Lynch trained Elegant Rumble claimed his place in the semi-final of the Guinness Trophy when winning the run-off at Curraheen Park yesterday morning.

In last Saturday’s concluding second round heat Elegant Rumble had dead-heated for third place with Voodoo Doctor behind the winner Paid Paddy. The connections didn’t agree to a toss to decide and rather brought the dogs back yesterday morning for a run-off.

This time Elegant Rumble won by a length from Voodoo Doctor in 29.23 and he will now occupy the inside trap in the second semi. The draw for this heat now reads: 1 Elegant Rumble; 2 Compass Hodge; 3 Sayitaintso; 4 Gogetemclaire; 5 Paid Paddy; 6 He Told Ted.
