Queen doubles up in International
It was a two-dog race from the second bend as Accordello just led up but was challenged on the second bend by Skywalker Queen while the remainder of the runners were in the wars.
Skywalker Queen showed in front early down the far side but when she moved wide off the final bend, Accordello ranged up on the inside.
It was a thrilling battle to the line but Skywalker Queen took the €25,000 prize by half a length from Accordello in 30.04. It was nine lengths back to Cash Dream in third.
The winner is owned by Ray Patterson from Devon and became the fourth winner of this race for the O’Donnell Kennels in Killenaule.
The Champion Stakes and the Derby are now possible targets if she doesn’t come in season and she received a 25/1 Derby quote from sponsors Boylesports.
