The FAI’s third tier concept had encountered delays akin to the national children’s hospital build but some observers are questioning if it’s worth the wait at all.

A proposal that was first mooted in 2018 is to be entitled the FAI National League, comprising 20 teams, split evenly between north and south of the country.
