Saturday marked Leinster’s 10th Heineken/Champions Cup semi-final in 12 years. That level of consistency deserves more than the single Champions Cup win registered over that period.

The scar tissue from the multiple disappointments encountered since 2019 in particular was encapsulated in the words of their inspirational captain Caelan Doris in the lead up to this game when he said “we must harness the fear”, an admission that a fear of falling at this hurdle was imbedded deep in their mindset.
