Duncan Casey: If left unchecked, the gap to Leinster will lead to disaster

The current situation, and the rate at which Leinster are outpacing everyone else, is untenable.

THE CHASM between Leinster and the other provinces has been a running theme throughout this season. It’s the same case every year, you might say, but it has shifted to another level now.

It has manifested in various ways: the signing of All Blacks Jordie Barrett and Rieko Ioane on half-season deals; Sam Prendergast waltzing into Ireland’s starting XV so quickly; an aggregate score of 114-0 in the first two knockout rounds of the Champions Cup.
