Christy O'Connor: Limerick remind Cork that dark days are never too far away

After the 2021 All-Ireland final mauling, Cork thought they’d never see another day as dark again. Except they did, just eight months later, when Limerick wiped the floor with them once more in their opening Munster round robin match in 2022.
Cork picked themselves off the floor, running Limerick to one point in the 2023 round robin, before beating Limerick twice last year. The black days against John Kiely’s side appeared to be over - but they’re not. This wasn’t a knockout game but the manner of yesterday’s defeat was a firm reminder of how Limerick are still capable of inflicting huge pain on Cork.
