Anthony Daly: Fillip for classy Tipp but Donoghue must quickly shake Galway self-pity

The games are coming thick and fast. And any team that lost over the weekend is suddenly in a scramble to get points on the board in such a competitive competition. And that’s the way any league should be.

I had a late night on Saturday, a very late night, but a great night. I was in the Garryvoe hotel, looking out onto Ballycotton and its lighthouse, as we were privileged to be there for the presentation of the Cork county medals to the Imokilly hurlers.

It was a really enjoyable experience, having been invited with my Irish Examiner podcast buddies, TJ Ryan and Mark Landers, but I had to cut the night shorter than I would have liked. I had to be in Dublin yesterday to watch the games for ‘Allianz League Sunday’ so I hit for Dublin after midnight.
