George Lucas is worth something north of €5bn. This is due largely to his hand in creating the Star Wars and Indiana Jones film franchises. It is not due largely, or indeed in any shape or form, to his ear for dialogue, which he has readily acknowledged is not part of his skillset. Or as Harrison Ford expostulated when attempting to recite his lines in the original Star Wars movie, “You can type this shit, George, but you can’t say it.”

Fortunately Ford had an altogether better team of writers for Raiders of the Lost Ark. They gave him a zinger by way of a response when yer wan with the dark hair is surveying his battered body and informing him he’s not the man she knew ten years ago. He agrees and explains why.
