This Thursday, GAA director general Tom Ryan delivers his sixth annual report. In it, he will be expected to again address the out-of-control costs of preparing inter-county teams.

In his 2020 report analysing the previous year when total expenditure touched €30 million, he wrote: “This was an increase of 11.6% over the previous year, a trend that simply cannot continue.
