Anthony Daly: Locked and loaded Gunners will prevail but would Cushendall win really be an upset?

I expect Ballygunner to be primed, especially after last year’s disappointing defeat at the same stage.

This very weekend last year, we were all giving out about fixtures when the GAA decided to schedule the All-Ireland club hurling semi-finals on the same afternoon as the World Cup final, with the Ballyhale Shamrocks-Ballygunner match going up at the same time as Argentina and France were facing off in Qatar.

A year on and I don’t know how the GAA manage it, but they’ve done it again. There isn’t any World Cup final this time around but they’ve somehow decided to stage one of the most attractive club games of the season in Portlaoise at 7.30pm on a Saturday evening.
