Sinead O'Connor died of 'natural causes', coronor confirms

A coroner has said that Irish musician Sinead O’Connor “died of natural causes” last year.
In July, the Dublin-born singer was found unresponsive at her south London home and pronounced dead at the age of 56.
A statement from Southwark Coroner’s Court on Tuesday said: “This is to confirm that Ms O’Connor died of natural causes.
“The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death.”
The Dublin-born singer was propelled to international stardom in 1990 with her version of Nothing Compares 2 U.
Her career spanned five decades during which she released ten studio albums.
Born in Dublin in 1966, O’Connor had four children. Her son Shane died in 2022, aged 17.
At her funeral in August, Sinead O’Connor was remembered as a “beloved daughter of Ireland” with “a poet’s heart” whose “voice moved a generation of young people”.
The life of the Irish singer was celebrated at a private ceremony, before the funeral cortege travelled past her former home in Bray, Co Wicklow so fans could pay their respects before a private burial.
Irish president Michael Higgins and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar were among those in attendance.
