When the previous owners have already installed a lovely modern kitchen then you have more time and resources to look after other areas of the house. And that’s exactly what the current owners of 75 The Cotswolds at Castleredmond in Midleton did.

The family of two parents and two small boys were delighted with the new Chris Keating fitted kitchen when they bought in 2018 (for €275k according to the Property Price Register). So they put time and effort instead into bringing other spots up to an attractive and nicely functional level.

“We did the back garden up and absolutely love that now. We added a new front door, Sliderobes, totally renovated the main bathroom and had the walls pumped with insulation,” says the mum of the house.

They had been attracted to the fact there are several big greens in the development: “We already knew people living in the estate and there’s lots of open space with plenty parking and places for children to play.”

Agent Adrianna Hegarty of Hegarty Properties says you don’t often see homes in this development coming up for sale: “It’s so handy for town and such a lovely area that people tend to stay here.

“This house is really getting interest from people who already have homes but want to move to where they can walk into Midleton.

“Some first-time buyers are interested too but mainly people keen to downsize.”

One of the owners is from closer to the coast in East Cork so they’re building a new home there, with this three-bed 116.5 sq m semi-detached home on the market now for €375k.
