“It’s a gorgeous house with two full bathrooms which have been recently renovated and you’ve got a very nice west-facing rear garden too,” she points out.

The 1995-built semi-detached house is easy to spot with its recently installed cheery red composite front door and inside there’s a freshly installed contemporary kitchen and two living/ dining rooms. The dining room, accessed from the kitchen, has two double doors out to a patio area. Also in the garden is a a block-built shed, which has been insulated and finished with a double-glazed window and composite door.

“With some TLC this shed has potential as a home office,” adds Ms O’Donovan.
Two of the three bedrooms are doubles and have built-in wardrobes.
There’s driveway parking for one car to the front.
The mix of downsizers and first-time buyers are likely attracted to the easy access to a range of local amenities, schools, and transport links too of course.
Stylish upgrades and home office potential, a great combo.

Coming up on its 100 year birthday in the next few years this three-bed Castlegreina home is in fine shape.
Cliffdene at No 27 in the estate just off the Boreenmanna Road, which itself is just off the South Link Road, also has a converted attic which is currently used as a fourth bedroom.

“It was a lovely sunny day when we had viewings yesterday but everyone did comment on how nice and bright the house is,” says Stuart O’Grady of Sherry FitzGerald. The house’s proximity to town is also a great selling point he adds, noting that it’s also attractive to people working at hospitals such as St Finbarr’s and South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital. The estate joins up with Carrigeen Park which opens onto the Ballinlough Road.
Two of the three bedrooms are doubles and they all have fireplaces and original solid wood flooring.
And we have to mention the bright and quirky wallpaper in the kitchen — the zebras and giraffes featured caught the eye of more than one potential buyer too.

VERDICT: Top notch location in a quiet estate with great accessibility.

For the literal minded, the signs are right there and things are looking bright. Apartment C5 at Crawford Hall is located up above two well-known signage and printing companies just off Western Road. This two-bed apartment with a balcony directly overlooks the River Lee’s south channel.

Connectivity was never a problem with this location around the corner from Washington St and within five minutes’ walk of the city centre but now there’s also the graceful-looking new bridge linking Crosses Green/Wandesford Quay to South Main St via Lambley’s Lane.
Of course it’s also convenient to UCC, Bon Secours Hospital, the recently renovated Bishop Lucey Park, which is coming into its own now that there’s a bit of spring growth in the park, and the Mardyke Leisure facility.
“You’re very central here, and there’s no rent cap on this apartment,” notes John Moynihan of Sherry FitzGerald.
The apartment, which comes with parking, is in good condition — accommodation includes an open plan kitchen/living area, two spacious double bedrooms with built-in wardrobes in both and one en-suite, and a main bathroom. An apartment in this development sold for €402k in December 2025.

: Would appeal to someone seeking a home or investment opportunity in the heart of Cork’s city centre.

It might be appropriate to say the wheel has turned full circle at this Bishopstown four-bed semi-detached house. Naantali, No. 3 Firgrove Lawn, was bought by its current owners back in 1980 and they must have been happy with how Dennis Guerin of Frank V Murphy handled things as they have asked him to handle the sale again now 46 years later.
Some things haven’t changed of course — and luckily they’re positives... that south-facing back garden is still a winner.
“It’s a good-sized solid house and we’re getting good trader-up interest, in fact we have five viewings booked for this evening,” says Mr Guerin.

Some recent sales in this estate include No’s 1, 8, 35 and 10 over the past four years for €500k, €515k, €490k, and €457k respectively.
Map apps put this home at an eight-minute walk from CUH and Wilton Shopping Centre and you’ve got several primary and secondary schools within a few hundred metres too. Handily it’s close to stops for the southern orbital bus route and of course you’re not far from MTU or UCC either.
New owners will naturally want to revamp to their own taste and to boost that E1 BER too but it’s a comfortable house where they could live while sorting out plans and permission.
: Top notch location — could easily stay four or five or more decades with the new owners too.
