A cottage garden with variety of annual and biannual native flowers.

  • Clonakilty Flower Club will host a charity demonstration by Ali Dietrich (AOIFA) on Monday, May 13 at 7.30pm in the GAA Pavilion, Ahamilla. The event includes a sales table and refreshments. Entry is €20 and proceeds is aid of AsIAm and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
  • Cobh Flower and Horticulture Club will hold its next meeting on Monday, May 13 in Cobh Community Centre at 7pm. A Floral Demonstration will be given by Jasmine O’Gorman. Visitors welcome. Admission €5.
  • Carrigtwohill Flower & Garden Club will host Barry Fitzgerald to speak on Container Gardening in Carrigtwohill Community Centre on Tuesday, May 14th at 8pm. Refreshments served. 
  • Ballincollig Flower and Garden club are hosting a floral demonstration "Spring into Summer" by Betty Cumiskey, AOIFA on Thursday, May 16 starting at 8pm in Gaelscoil Ui Riordain (P31 V242). Visitors €10 including refreshments.
  • Glengarra Flower and Garden Club had the pleasure of hosting Theresa Collins (AOIFA) for a demonstration last Thursday in Burncourt. Theresa created five beautiful arrangements using an assortment of flowers and greenery. Five lucky raffle winners each took home an arrangement. 
  • Churchtown South Community Council will host a Plant and Bake Sale on Sunday, May 19 from 11am to 1pm. It takes place at the Churchtown South Community Hall in Cloyne, Co Cork (P25 AX24). The event includes teas, coffees, hot chocolates and bric-a-brac. Any donations of plants/baking are greatly appreciated. Funds raised will go towards the upkeep of the Hall.
  • A Garden Day event is taking place Broadford, Co Limerick on Saturday, May 18. The event starts at 10am until 5pm. Location: P56D402. Guest speaks include Eanna NĂ­ Lamhna and Carl Wright. There are also a wide range of demonstrations, plant crafts and food stalls as well as childrens’ entertainment activities. Admission: Adults €10. Children: Free.
  • The Cork Flower Club meets on Tuesday, May 21 at 7.30pm in Douglas GAA club, Douglas West, Cork. Elizabeth Murray AOIFA will be giving a demonstration titled, “Beauty Of Nature”. Visitors welcome, entry €5.
  • Ballincollig Garden and Flower Club will host an Open Garden and Coffee Morning on Saturday, May 25 from 10am to 1pm supporting Marymount Hospice. It takes place at Margaret Ahern’s Garden in Aherla (P31 RP44). Entry is €10 and the event includes a raffle and plant sale.
  • The Owenabue Garden and Flower Club in Carrigaline is inviting people to join their annual outing to Co Waterford on May 27 visiting Mount Congreve Gardens and Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens plus Maguires Garden Centre. Lunch and dinner are included in the trip which costs €97. The coach leaves Carrigaline at 8am and returns at 9.30pm. For more information contact 086 1742702 or 087 6976552
