Garden Notes: Events for your diary
- Cork Flower Club will be meeting on Tuesday, April 16 at Douglas GAA Club, Douglas West, Cork at 7.30pm. Brian McCarthy of the Roof Top Garden, Cornmarket Street, Cork, will be giving a talk on how the garden was created and its ongoing development. There will also be a selection of plants, Bric a Brac and preloved flower arranging containers and sundries for sale on the night. All welcome. Visitors €5.
- Mallow Flower & Garden Club is hosting renowned plantswoman Hester Forde for a talk entitled "Spring at Coosheen" at Mallow College of Further Education on Tuesday, April 16 at 7.30 pm. An evening to inspire plant enthusiasts of all ages. Non-members €8.
- Conna & District Flower & Garden Club will host Barry Fitzgerald of Four Seasons Nursery, near Youghal on Wednesday, April 17th at 8pm in Conna Hall. The club is eagerly looking forward to all Barry has to offer, both in sharing his knowledge and advice. He will have plants for sale on the night also.
- Ballincollig Flower and Garden club will host a teaching demonstration by Sheila Gilbert AOIFA showing how to make three floral exhibits on Thursday, April 18 starting at 8pm at Gaelscoil Ui Riordain (P31 V242). Club teaching demo at 7.45pm. Visitors €10 including refreshments. All Welcome.
- The Festival of Gardens and Nature is a new gardening event founded by Catherine FitzGerald and Minnie Preston which takes place in Ballintubbert Gardens and House in Stradbally, Co Laois, on the weekend of April 20 and 21. It is being described as Electric Picnic meets Gardeners’ World.
