It’s blackberry season, and if you’re lucky enough to live in the countryside or near hedgerows, you could be picking tubs of them now to freeze, rather than buying them at the supermarket.

Blackberries are delicious in crumbles, compotes, jams and mousses, or added to cocktails and syrups — and with the recent heavy rainfall, you don’t want to delay picking them.
