Your guide to what's going on in the gardening world this week.

Cork GIY will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, October 1, in the Hydro Farm Allotments Tower/Blarney at 7.30pm.

The talk will be on pest control without the use of pesticides or toxic sprays. Admission is free.

All welcome. Tea/coffee/ biscuits provided.

Blarney & District Garden & Flower Club presents “How does your garden grow?” with special guest at Whitechurch Community Hall on Thursday, September 26, at 8pm.

Refreshments served. All welcome.

Owenabue Garden & Flower Club, Carrigaline will hold its next meeting on Monday, September 23, in the Church of Ireland School hall (beside main entrance to the community school) at 8pm.

Assumpta Bloomfield will give a talk on the history of roses.

Glenville Flower & Garden Club will return after its summer break with a talk by Birdwatch Ireland in its garden in Kades Kounty on Tuesday, September 24, at 8.30pm. All are welcome.

National Flower Festival, Splendour in Flowers and Stone, takes place at St Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh, on Saturday, September 28, 11am-5pm, and Sunday, September 29, 1pm-4.30pm.

Concert featuring Amanda Neri, Saturday, September 28, at 8pm in Cathedral.

The event is supporting Pieta House.

Cork Alpine Hardy Plant Society hosts an event at Northridge House. Mahon, Cork, on Thursday, September 26, at 8pm.

Phil Smith from Wollerton Old Hall Garden, Market Drayton, UK, will speak on “Wollerton Old Hall — The Garden”.

There will be plants for sale on the night. All welcome.
