Fiann’s tips for February

* Ice or not, sometimes February is the coldest month of the year, so it’s fleece for you and a different fleece for tender plants.

* Sometimes it is the wettest month; if not in actual direct rainfall, then simply in the saturation of the soil, a moisture level that has been swelling all winter, so don’t over walk the garden, try to work off a plank if you can.

* There is plenty of sowing to be done this weekend and the weeds will be like spring lambs soon, so sow in a straight line to distinguish your germinations from the irregular patterns of sprouting weeds.
