This week’s jobs around the garden

Campanula muralis or the creeping bellflower which I was raving about earlier in the year for its colour and its habit of clinging to walls and crevices, has given all of its first flush of flower for this year and is even looking a bit untidy.

This week’s jobs around the garden

Time to take a scissors to the unruly stringy growth coming from the centre of the plant.

Cut back as hard as you like and new stems will be quickly produced offering even more purple colour over the next few months.

I find that by doing this whenever the flowers are finished will nearly ensure colour all year round from my campanulas.
