Cobh Flower and Horticulture Club holds its next meeting in Cobh Community Centre on Monday 2nd March at 8pm.

Daniel Leahy, Carewswood Garden Centre will speak on “Successful Planting in the Garden”. Plants will be on sale.

East Cork Flower Club will host Peter Dowdall, horticultural consultant and Irish Examiner gardening columnist will speak on “Coming into Spring” at St. John the Baptist National School, Midleton on Monday, March 2at 8pm. Our Daffodil Show will also take place - a trio of spring flowers, 3 stems of foliage 24”’, 1 stem of spring blossom 24”.

Carrigtwohill Flower & Garden Club has re-commenced and will host Michael Clancy to give a talk, demo and tips on Wednesday, March 11 at 8pm in Carrigtwohill Community Centre. Free refreshments; plant sale and raffle.

Futura Floral Art Group will host “Floral Extravaganza” by Rob Plattel, world renowned Dutch Designer at the Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig on Wednesday March 11 at 7.30pm. Admission €15. Contact: Angela 083 3485443 or Margaret 087 7987775. Tickets also available at the door.

The next GIY Clonakilty meeting is on Monday, March 9 at 8pm in O’Donovan’s Hotel. The guest speaker is Gemma Hughes from Waterford. Talk subject “Spring Health with Herbs” . A spring flower demonstration by Eileen O’Brien, AOIFA, in aid of Autism Assistance Dogs and An Grianán will be held on Friday March 13 at 8pm sharp in the Tracton Arts and Community Centre, Minane Bridge, Co Cork. Entry €10 (with light refreshments) Contact Margaret on 086 3773509

Bantry Flower & Garden Club’s next meeting will be held on March 2 at the Westlodge Hotel at 8pm. The Guest Speaker will be DJ Murphy of Bandon Garden Centre.

Madeline McKeever of Brown Envelope Seeds will give a talk to Cork GIY on ‘Seeds For The New Season’ on Tuesday, March 3 in the South Parish Community Centre, Sawmill Street at 7.30pm. Free Parking.

Aherla Flower and Garden Club will hold a “Floral Demonstration” by Jill O’ Keeffe on Tuesday March 3 at 8pm in the Parish Centre, Ovens. Visitors are welcome. Entry €5.

The Irish Garden Plant Society (Munster) meets Tuesday March 3 at the SMA Hall Wilton, starting at 8:00pm. The talk entitled “The Irish Primrose” will be given by Pat Fitzgerald.

A 7th edition of the Teagasc Guide to Vegetable Growing has just been published and copies are free of charge from stephen.alexander@teagasc.ie . An electronic version is also available on the Teagasc website under “Publications”.

Carlow Garden Trail presents Daffodil Week 2015 and the event returns from March 23rd – 29th, with all proceeds going to Cancer Support. It kicks off with the Delta Sensory Gardens and Garden Centre, Strawhall Estate, Carlow.
